The challenge with this pitch was to come up with a fun and appealing way to integrate factual information into aerial drone footage. The goal was to explore as much variety as possible of the different ways this idea could tell a story and deliver historic information.
There was a lot of camera tracking involved to seamlessly integrate the graphics into each shot. This was just for a proof of concept, so didn't spend too much time with any of the shots.
I played no part in shooting any of the drone footage.

This rusted metal sign (complete with shadows) and the dates 1920-2004 were added to the original footage.

Getting this rusty 3d text to appear semi-submerged in water was probably one of the biggest challenges of this project.

I want to believe.

it wasn't easy to object-track the position and rotation of that floating thing-a-ma-jig.

If you look close, you can see the shadow of the drone on the cliff and again on the title. I added that shadow because I thought it was an important part of the show conceptually.
